SOC 2 and ISO 27001: What OpenEye’s Cybersecurity Certifications Actually Mean for You

A cloud-connected camera system is still a network device, and network devices are a real attack surface. OpenEye has been building its case on that front: the company holds SOC 2 Type 2 certification and completed ISO 27001:2022 certification, two of the more demanding independent audits a cloud platform can go through.

The SOC 2 Type 2 audit ran over six months, testing OpenEye’s internal controls against the AICPA’s Trust Services Criteria — the standard most businesses now expect from any vendor handling their data. On the platform itself, that shows up as practical features: single sign-on to cut down on rogue remote clients, no open inbound ports required on your network firewall, and multi-factor authentication as a standard layer, not an upsell.

Why It Matters

A camera system with a weak network posture is a liability, not just a blind spot — it’s a door into the rest of your network. Independent certification means an outside auditor verified OpenEye’s controls, rather than taking their word for it.

Where We’d Recommend It

Any organization where IT or compliance has a say in what gets connected to the network — healthcare, education, financial services, and any business that’s had to fill out a vendor security questionnaire recently.
